Who We Help
We work with children 7 years and above (where parent or caregiver shows a willingness to participate in their own session). The issues we specialise in are: anxiety, sadness, social interaction, learning disabilities, ADHD/ADD, trauma, sleep and eating, self esteem, school incidents and reprogramming negative belief systems.
Childhood today also includes added pressures that we didn’t have to deal with growing up, like navigating your way through the digital age of constant screen time. How do we practice conscious parenting of children immersed in contemporary consumer and digital culture? More and more, the clinic is coming to understand that none of our kids’ core needs for connection, resilience and contribution are being met by the digital age. In fact, we are all more lonely and medicated than ever! While instantly gratifying, a ‘like’ is never going to bring their maturing spirit the emotional riches of true, deep connection. This can create the need for guidance. We believe that inside every child is a rainbow waiting to shine; it’s our job to help it appear again from behind the clouds.
We empower teens to work through contemporary society’s complex mental and physical health issues by building emotional resilience and reducing stress. According to Mission Australia’s mental health youth survey the top issues facing today’s teens are: 1) coping with stress 2) school and study problems 3) body image. Other areas can include: pressures from the school environment; exam anxiety; self-image; bullying; relationships; the toxicity of digital overload.
As women’s lives have changed beyond all recognition in the last few decades, they are experiencing plenty of growing pains in the cultural transition, such as the impossible demands that working or single motherhood puts on work/life balance.
Some female-oriented issues that we deal with at The Inner Shine Clinic include: stress and overwhelm (competing demands); relationship breakdowns; anxiety; depression; health issues, grief; past or present trauma; body image and self esteem, ageing; parenting challenges; birth trauma; retaining a sense of identity in new motherhood when you have ‘slipped away’ from yourself; manifesting financial abundance; addiction challenges; emotional eating; fears and performance anxiety.
Although we primarily focus on the needs of women and children at The Inner Shine Clinic, we hold a gentle, supportive space for the men in their lives. We offer guidance and help to those seeking freedom from issues that ultimately prevent them supporting the women in their lives.
These can include: stress and overwhelm (competing demands); relationship breakdowns; anxiety; depression; health issues; grief; past or present trauma; body image and self esteem; parenting challenges; financial abundance; addiction challenges; emotional eating; fears and performance anxiety, PTSD.
The Inner Shine Clinic can also facilitate work shops for family, team, community and corporate – as well as visit schools and present at conferences, where invited.
